2012 – Were you an achiever too?

December 18, 2012

What a year!

On a national level I’m sure we’re still to have a run down and be bombarded with clips of the Jubilee, Olympics & Paralympics. We showed as a Country what we can really do when we put our minds to it. The games showed that no matter what time of life we are at, we can learn something new and truly excel at it. There were athletes that had literally been training for a year or two and coming home with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. Truly inspiring I’m sure you’d agree!

I’m quite happy to celebrate my own achievements though, this has been a year of venturing out on my own, meeting wonderful business people who have inspired and motivated me, taking myself out of my comfort zone and realizing that I can do things I would never have dreamt of.

Sometimes only our own fears and doubts can hold us back, if we don’t put ourselves out there and learn from others, can we really begin to grow and get to where we aspire to be?

It may only take an inspirational quote or kind words by a loved one or colleague to spur you on or put things into perspective. I love sharing these on my facebook page and you can see many of them here. It’s important to me to share these with others as you never know who may need to read them at that moment.

As we bound into 2013, start the year off with reminding yourself what you’re good at and why you are doing what you’re doing. Surround yourself with pictures of your “whys” and inspirations, if their business icons or just family/friends.

Don’t forget that being in business is like driving a car : It’s always important to look forward AND use your rear-view mirror in driving, in business we get so caught up in the ‘looking forward’ that we tend to forget to look behind, review what worked well but also what didn’t work so well and learn from your mistakes.

Whatever you have achieved in 2012, WELL DONE!!!

Why not leave a comment below with what you achieved, it’s good to share……
